Join our research team as an air quality scientist and work with the world-leading Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling System (ADMS) family of models.
We develop models used to calculate air pollutant concentrations near traffic, industry, and other emissions sources. Our consultancy and research projects cover toxic air pollutants and greenhouse gases for various clients, including government, industry, and academia.
The role involves manipulating datasets, developing skills in quantifying model performance, and gaining experience with software packages like Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
You will have a strong background in physical science and be able to analyse and interpret data. An aptitude for programming is desirable, and experience with languages like Python, R, or MATLAB is useful.
Applicants must work well-organised, with attention to detail, and be able to meet deadlines. Effective communication in English is necessary, and some travel may be involved.
CERC offers professional membership, training, and opportunities for staff to attend events. Your salary will be in the range £29,000 to £36,000, depending on your qualifications and experience.
Initially, you will be employed on a three-month probationary period, and the post is full-time for two years, with the possibility of being made permanent.
