Trinity Business Support is currently looking for an experienced Quality Inspector for our Sedgefield manufacturing facility.
Our Sedgefield site manufactures plastic packaging mainly for the food industry, and due to continued growth and vast new contract wins, we're now looking to add this role to our ever-increasing team.
Job Purpose:
The Quality Shift Inspector is responsible for monitoring and recording daily quality inspections, ensuring all products meet the requirements and standards agreed with our customers on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for visually checking the quality of product against the customer specification on an hourly basis.
2. Approve first off checks and samples for each machine.
3. Take regular samples throughout the shift ensuring all samples are labelled correctly with all required information.
4. Raw material inspection and testing.
5. Weekly GMP audit as per schedule and check if corrective actions have been completed.
6. Carry out QA training of new packing operators and ensure any change in QA policies or procedures are trained out to all relevant employees.
7. Inspect and verify packing format against specification/cards, labels, and paperwork are correct.
8. Check extruded sheet is correct specification and labelled correctly.
9. Ensure cards are compiled, reviewed, and correspond with product.
10. Participate and oversee the sorting of any finished goods returned or put on hold (external and internal).
11. Assist with any NCR investigation where required.
12. Carry out daily calibration of production scales.
13. Compile and issue job packs and ensure completed job packs have been completed correctly and any corrective actions are carried out across all departments.
14. Ensure metal detector checks are being carried out correctly; any issues to be reported to Shift Supervisor & Senior Quality Technician.
15. Stop production line if major non-compliance of specifications, standards, or quality is found during the inspection process.
16. Complete all required paperwork in line with internal procedures and maintain inspection journals and daily summary logs.
17. Ensure that the QA hold area is under control; all stocks include a hold label with information.
18. Police and ensure ‘clean as you go’ and hygiene policy are carried out by all entering the production hall.
19. Ensure comprehensive handover and cover of holidays/absence is shared throughout the team.
Salary:
£12.36 per hour (£26,994). Overtime is paid at 1.25 rate.
Hours of Work:
Alternating 07.00–19.00 and 19.00–07.00 on a 3 on 3 off 12-hour shift pattern.
Holidays:
24 days inclusive of bank holidays.
