We are looking for an experienced and thoughtful Psychodynamic Psychotherapist to join the Southwark Primary Care Mental Health Team Psychology and Psychotherapy Team. We want someone who can assist with the day-to-day running of a psychotherapy team alongside other modalities. We are looking for someone who understands (or is willing to learn) the context of a psychiatry MDT, and can work with fellow clinicians to bring out the best therapy options for patients in a context of limited resources.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
1. Evidence of significant knowledge and skills in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
2. Experience of or interest in training in evidence-based psychodynamic treatment models such as Transference Focused Psychotherapy, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy.
3. Skills, experience, or training in supervision of psychodynamic psychotherapy.
4. Sound clinical risk assessment and management formulation skills, and an ability to write assessment reports.
5. A commitment to active management of waiting lists and patient flow. Skills with Excel and TEAMS would be an advantage.
6. A commitment to taking a proactive stance in challenging racism and discrimination and supporting the development of a culturally competent service.
Main duties of the job:
1. To take up the role of a senior clinician in the Psychodynamic team and the Psychology and Psychotherapies team. Duties will include assisting the team with screening referrals and managing the waiting list.
2. To provide 1-2 supervision groups for psychotherapy Band 7 staff, honorary psychotherapists, and trainee psychotherapists.
3. To provide line management for Band 7 psychotherapists.
4. To provide highly specialist psychotherapy assessments for patients referred for psychodynamic psychotherapy in Southwark PCMHT P& P. This would include planning of treatment, monitoring outcomes, liaising with referrers, and recording contacts, risk, and outcomes on the electronic record system.
5. To offer Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and/or one of the structured Psychodynamic Psychotherapies such as Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy for Complex Care (DITCC) or Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP).
6. To assist with work and projects relevant to senior clinicians in liaison with the principal psychodynamic psychotherapist and other senior staff in the team.
7. To offer, where requested, reflective practice, clinical consultation, or other support to other professions in the wider psychiatric team.

Qualifications and Professional Registration:
1. Entry-level qualification in Psychodynamic or Psychoanalytic Adult Psychotherapy that has been accepted by the BPC/UKCP/ EQUIVALENT for purposes of professional registration.
2. Additional training beyond entry-level qualification in a specialised area of practice through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent), OR a combination of specialist short courses and/or an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice, assessed by an experienced clinical supervisor to be of equal level to a Postgraduate Diploma or higher.
3. Registered with the BPC/UKCP/ EQUIVALENT as a Psychodynamic or Psychoanalytic Adult Psychotherapist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the BPC/UKCP/ EQUIVALENT registration body.
Knowledge:
