Electrical Engineering Support Technician – Controls
Location: Northumberland

Zenith People are working with our client who is looking to recruit a Support Engineer/Controls Engineer on a permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the development of controls, offering technical support to the factory to meet customer requirements. Reporting into the Engineering and Controls Manager, you will provide key support to the Lead Controls Engineers and Production Electricians where necessary.
Responsibilities
1. Providing support to the whole sales network in the UK through costing software and diagnosing faults within systems.
2. Working with and supporting the factory to develop products.
3. Assisting the Sales Team by preparing controls quotations and technical submissions.
4. Investigating and pursuing controls development to assist in cost reduction and to stay current with continued technological advances.
5. Carrying out any planned reactive and preventative maintenance on equipment.
6. Preparing and issuing production packages including wiring schedules and location drawings.
7. Providing training in controls application to the service organization and sales team.
8. Troubleshooting control problems and issues to produce solutions, working from wiring diagrams to fault-find on equipment.
9. Participating in meetings or direct communications with customers or field sales offices to assist in the resolution of problems or complaints.
10. Maintaining a teamwork philosophy with other departments to facilitate problem solving and provide good customer service.
11. An element of travel will be involved.
Experience Required
1. Electrical Qualification such as HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Electronics.
2. AutoCAD fundamental knowledge - desirable.
3. IT Literate - Confident user in Microsoft Office.
4. Knowledge and understanding of interfacing to ancillary equipment.
5. Excellent communication skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served electrically qualified individual to move into controls engineering while training under the supervision of the Lead Controls Engineer.
