We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Adult Inpatient Unit at Dougie Mac, working across both day and night shifts. Our team is committed to delivering person-centred care to adults and their families facing palliative, complex, life-limiting, or life-threatening conditions.
You’ll work alongside more than 20 registered nurses and over 40 healthcare staff on our 26-bedded unit, providing individualised care that promotes and maintains the best quality of life for each patient. Whether on day or night shifts, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, holistic care in a calm, supportive, and safe environment.
We offer full-time and part-time contracts, providing flexibility while ensuring continuity of care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional standards of person-centred care to patients and families across both day and night shifts.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care programmes to meet individual patient needs.
* Provide holistic care, incorporating physical, psychological, social, and spiritual support.
* Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
* Maintain accurate and professional patient records in line with hospice policies and NMC guidelines.
* Take charge of the nursing team during shifts, ensuring smooth unit operations in the absence of senior staff.
* Participate in quality improvement and clinical audits.
* Engage in professional development and training initiatives.
About You
Are you committed to delivering specialist, individualised care in a palliative care setting? If so, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for someone who has:
* Current NMC RGN registration.
* A passion for palliative care, with an interest or previous experience in this field.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work independently and collaboratively across day and night shifts.
* A flexible and professional approach to varying shift patterns.
* IT proficiency, including familiarity with electronic patient records (desirable).

Salary: £31,164-£36,173 FTE (depending on skills, experience & knowledge) + 20% Anti-social
Hours: Part & Full time contracts available
