Your Role The Embedded Platform Software Engineer will develop and support our radio software running on our Linux based radio product. You will be responsible for development, integration, debugging and testing activities. Your Day To Day There is no such thing as a typical day here at Sepura. You will be supported by your manager and team, and you will be collaborating with other departments across the business. Activities You Will Be Responsible For Include Working in a SCRUM team to deliver the team goals. Embedded SW development for new features. Debugging real-time issues and bug fixing. Writing unit tests and integration tests. Participating in code reviews and document reviews. Interfacing with the wider organisation including hardware/electronics team, product test and integration team. Participation in SCRUM ceremonies. What you need to succeed Must-haves Qualifications Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline Experience and Skills Excellent knowledge of any programming language. Good analytical skills and logical reasoning ability. Innovative with ability to generate new ideas and approaches to problems. Enjoys problem solving and working on challenging projects. Excellent debugging skills with tenacity to probe issues to understand their root causes. Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience of using configuration management and fault tracking tools. Able to apply initiative when required and will take ownership for the achievement of their own activities. Ability to communicate with the wider engineering organisation. Nice to have: Experience And Skills Experience in C or C++ programming language. Embedded real-time software development experience on any OS and/or chipsets. Experience with development tools for debugging, profiling, code coverage, memory leak detection etc. Experience with real-time, multi-processor, multi-threaded, event-driven software. Embedded systems knowledge, ability to read and understand schematics. Experience of Linux kernel and system programming. Experience working in small RTOS and Microcontrollers.
