Pre School Assistant - Early Years Provision
Do you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with a learning disability? We are seeking dedicated Pre School Assistants for both Part Time and Full Time positions until July.
Mencap's Early Years provision offers a programme of play, care, and education for 2-4 year olds with significant developmental delays. The post holder will assist in providing a stimulating, caring, and therapeutic play environment within an educational setting. Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, professionals, and the Family Support team, the Pre School Assistant will facilitate care and learning through play, incorporating therapy opportunities to help each child reach their full potential.
The ideal candidate is passionate and caring, working as part of the Early Years team to create a stimulating environment for the children supported.
Position Details
The position is available as either Part Time or Full Time. The Part Time role offers either 14 hours per week (Tuesday and Thursday) or 21 hours per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).
Qualifications and Experience
* Childcare qualification at QCF Level 2 or equivalent in Child Care, Learning and Development, or Playwork, or a relevant occupational qualification.
* Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
* Preferably, at least 1 year of experience working or living with children aged 0-4 and their families.
