Job Description:
1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant in SEMH Provision, with experience in managing challenging behaviour
Job Duties:
* Provide 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs and Social Emotional Mental Health needs in a specialist provision.
* Implement individualised education plans and behaviour management strategies.
* Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
* Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation.
* Manage challenging behaviour effectively and de-escalate situations when necessary.
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students.
Required Qualifications:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
* Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding procedures.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
* Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
* Understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies to support students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to challenging situations.
Working Conditions:
* Work primarily within a school setting, 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday-Friday.
* Full-time hours with occasional flexibility required.
* Regular interaction with students, teachers, and other educational professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
