Administrative Assistant - North Cumbria Mental Health Support Teams
Barnardo's North Cumbria Mental Health Support Teams are looking for an Administrative Assistant to work within our administration team.
Are you organised and enjoy administration duties? This role could be for you.
For the right applicant, we can be flexible about hours of work and location.
There will be requirements to attend meetings in North Cumbria at one of the service bases at least fortnightly. But the majority of the role can be completed remotely. The role is for 22.2 hours a week and ideally would include a Thursday and a Friday, but this can be discussed further at interview. For example, the hours could be completed during the school day across the week.
The service bases are situated in Workington, Cockermouth, and Carlisle. The office base for the post holder will be agreed following the interview.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant who will support our team. We are looking to appoint a person who will be able to hit the ground running.
The Administrative Assistant is often the first point of contact for referrers, and you need to be confident with good communication skills. You will be exceptionally organised, ensuring that reporting systems are in place, and that data is collected and input.
The successful candidate will provide administration support to the Mental Health Support Teams.
What are the essentials that we need from you?
It is especially important that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate experience of and/or an understanding of the following:
Essential
* Experience of using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* 2 years experience of providing administration support.
* Demonstrate ability to work on their own initiative.
* Be able to be flexible and work across the North Cumbria locality as required.
Desirable
* Experience of providing administration support in Health/Education/Care/Charity organisations.
* Experience of maintaining social media.
Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) are a national programme.
The programme has three main commitments:
* Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.
* Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school/college approach.
* Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education.
MHST's enable the promotion of wellbeing and good mental health with a particular focus on early intervention. They work with existing emotional and mental health support within education, building relationships with each setting and with children, young people, parent-carers, and partners in the local system, to co-design and evaluate the offer required.
Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing is a key component of Barnardo's Corporate Strategy and Mental Health Support Teams are part of this strategy.
Please be aware, Barnardo's use generic Job Descriptions and Person Specifications when recruiting to posts. However, when completing the application form for this role, applicants must provide evidence to demonstrate how their skills, experience and, if required, qualifications, relate to the essential requirements as set out in the Additional Information Sheet.
Please note due to the high volume of applications for some posts, this advert might close before the displayed closing date. We recommend that you apply for this role as soon as possible.
