What does the modern apprenticeship involve?
This year’s Modern Apprenticeship will begin in August 2025 and will last for 4 years. The 1st year is mainly spent at college where Apprentices will obtain SVQ Level 2 and National Certificate in their chosen specialisation. When Apprentices are not in college, they will be on site and learning their trade by various training methods including “buddying up” with more experienced members of staff.
During years 2 to 4, apprentices will work towards the SVQ Level 3.
Training Coordinators will regularly monitor apprentice progress in the workplace and at college.
We have 4 Apprenticeships available within the Company in the following specialisations of 1 x Machine Operator and 1 x Welding at FTV Proclad International, 1 x Machine Operator at ITS (Innovative Tooling Solutions) and 1 x Machine Operator at DDL Pumps & Spares.
If you have a preference to one of the above specialisations, please specify this on your application, although you may be put forward for a different specialisation depending on your skill set and the needs of the company.
Entry Requirements
5 Standard Grades/National 5 including Maths, English and Technical or Science subjects based at 3/C (or equivalent such as a NC in an engineering specialisation) or above, plus one higher is desirable.
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
