Our client, a leading UK housebuilder, is seeking talented Surveying professionals to join their South-division team based in South-West London. We are currently hiring for the following roles:
Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Quantity Surveyor
Senior Quantity SurveyorThe Roles:
These roles involve managing cost control, procurement, valuations, and financial aspects of large-scale residential developments. Depending on your level of experience, you will take on responsibilities ranging from assisting with subcontractor payments and valuations to overseeing full commercial management of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and procure suitable subcontractors.
Negotiate and manage subcontractor contracts and payments.
Provide accurate cost-data feedback to the divisional estimating department.
Monitor and administer financial aspects of development projects.
Review and forecast cost estimates to ensure budget compliance.
Maintain relationships with external employers such as Housing Associations, including valuations, cash flow forecasting, and warranty management.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and promote a safe working environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in a main contractor or housebuilder environment.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.
Knowledge of the residential development market.
Commercially aware with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage supplier relationships and ensure contract compliance.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Possession of a CSCS card.Role-Specific Requirements:
Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Ideal for candidates with some industry experience, keen to develop their skills in cost management and procurement.
Quantity Surveyor – A solid background in quantity surveying with the ability to handle larger projects and more responsibility.
Senior Quantity Surveyor – Extensive experience in residential developments with a proven track record of leading cost management and commercial strategies.Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Degree or relevant technical qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction.
Experience working in high-volume housebuilding (200+ units)
Relevant experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications, with opportunities for further professional development.
