Job Description Traditionally the UK&I Aviation business has been UK centric, focused on supporting our clients with airfield and civil infrastructure engineering services. Our future growth strategy is building on this, focusing around four key pillars, strengthening existing and building new relationships across our UK customer base including defence opportunities, creating new client relationships and activity across Europe including with airport operators and contractors, building our aviation advisory business globally, and creating a new service offering targeting future flight and ESG. Aviation is one of the key focus sectors at AECOM, a business sector which sits within our number one rated global transportation engineering consultancy. Whilst we are already the number one aviation engineering consultancy by revenue globally, we see significant future growth potential as the sector recovers from the downturn induced by the Covid 19 outbreak. Our clients are beginning to re-invest in their assets, to ensure they are in the right condition, but also to ensure their capacity needs of the future. To support our growth strategy we are seeking a strong market sector leader, experienced in the aviation sector and with a growth mindset. You will understand the power and importance of client relationship management and leverage the wider AECOM business to be able to craft and create the solutions that our clients increasingly demand. You will understand the challenges our clients face and turn our current and existing clients into trusted long-term relationships working with a strong and capable team. We are looking for someone who will inspire our clients and our team alike to exceed and outperform in our sector. You will have the level of experience and existing client contacts that will allow you to promptly oversee the full portfolio of our aviation projects, and to grow our business with existing and new clients in existing and new markets. Such existing projects include portfolio wide airfield inspections for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the design and implementation of a runway resurfacing and AGL lighting strategy for Athens International Airport, a runway optimization study for Southend airport, and a major masterplan revision for Delhi International airport, among many others. Responsibilities: Direct, develop and grow our Aviation Advisory and Design Services across the UK & Ireland and Europe, specific responsibilities include: Manage and build the team reflective of the long-term growth and service proposition strategy. Build the order portfolio across the UK&I and Europe with existing and new clients. Develop a Business Plan that fully reflects the market growth potential and position AECOM as the premiere Aviation consultant in the UK&I and Europe by market share and reputation. Identify key clients and key pursuits. Prepare key client management plans and key pursuit plans, maintaining a strong and achievable pipeline of opportunities. Develop and maintain existing client relationships looking to build trusted advisor status across key clients. Help to grow the team including leading recruitment for the team as well as coaching and developing the existing teams’ skills. Lead major pursuit proposals. Leverage the wider AECOM network and other business lines to enhance capability and work winning strategies. Implement and maintain AECOM international standards of project delivery, quality, program and budget. Oversee the delivery of large complex and multidisciplinary Aviation projects. Support the wider global Transportation Business Line in the identification, winning and delivery of major projects in the UK&I, Europe and globally.
