The Role As a Finance Director, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working in conjuncture with the MD for Major Nuclear Capital Projects, a new and developing business area for us; providing leadership, direction and oversight of financial activity for the civil program team. Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for a team of 15, working within a business unit that needs an operational focus with a turnover of circa £500 and being responsible for the preparation of business unit financial reports, project performance reports and forecasts for future business growth: Maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders. Key business interface with operational and functional directors and any other board members. Oversee financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance. Financial guidance for the strategy and development of delivery programmes. Drive the business to exceed profit and cash targets. Interface with Sector finance team. Drive consistency across the business unit and contracts therein. This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office / onsite and 2 days working from home. Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential Experience of the Finance Director: Experience in financial management at FD level from a civil engineering / main contractor capacity. Successful delivery of working capital and cash flow improvements. Demonstratable experience as a financial leader with the drive, ambition and gravitas to lead a high-performing team. Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations. Proven capability and significant experience of leading change, implementing systems and processes. Experience in multisite project environment. Qualifications for the Finance Director: You must hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent / similar.
