We have an exciting opportunity for an Africa Oxford Innovation Programme Manager to support our outstanding African innovators. The AfOx Innovation Programme Manager will play an instrumental role in enabling them to develop technology start-ups and facilitate engagement with technical expertise across Oxford. This post will be based at the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nuffield Department of Medicine.
As the Africa Oxford Innovation Programme Manager, you will manage all administrative aspects of the programme, including the application and selection processes (peer review and interview process), logistics for training workshops/sessions, accurate record keeping, and data management. You will act as the contact point for approaches from innovation fellows and prospective applicants, manage support for cohorts, and work closely with the AfOx team to connect with a wide range of internal and external collaborators.
You will develop a good understanding of the University’s complex research and innovation landscape, identify and engage with colleagues in translation research, and collaboratively curate and host events and activities for the innovation fellows. You will work with colleagues in preparing presentations to external partners, develop strong relevant networks within Africa, contribute to positioning our engagement with innovation fellows appropriately, and continuously iterate our model to unlock a better, more effective way of engagement.
To be successful in this role, you will be educated to a degree level in areas such as economics, international development, biomedical engineering, medicine, or relevant disciplines for supporting bioscience-led ventures. You will be highly organised, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with a demonstrable ability to think creatively, take initiative, leverage opportunities, and accomplish projects with autonomy. You will have strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate effectively, and excellent skills in IT applications, particularly MS Office applications. Experience in research knowledge exchange management, coordination of training programmes, and design and development of projects is highly desirable.
This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. Please note that interviews will be held in the week commencing 25th of November 2024.

STANDARD GRADE 7
Salary (£): Grade 7: £38,674 - £46,913 with a discretionary range to £51,059 p.a. This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 per year.
