Role Overview: To support and assist the kitchen management team through leading the preparation of food across all areas of the kitchen ensuring the correct storage, preparation, cooking and presentation of food for all food and beverage outlets are adhered to according to Company standards. Main Responsibilities: Organise and deliver the effective preparation of food product as dictated by weekly business, in collaboration with the Head Chef, Grill Chef and Banqueting Chef Support in other areas of the kitchen as directed by the Head Chef Assist with staff training and supervision of staff in the preparation, cooking and service of all dishes. Ensure laundry is controlled within the kitchen. Ensure that the food hygiene regulations are followed at all times ensuring that the food is stored and rotated on a daily basis to eliminate wastage. Check fridges and stocks on a daily basis and plan purchasing requirements in accordance with business demands for the Banqueting kitchen Assist with monitoring all cleaning activities to ensure that the departmental cleaning schedules are followed and kept to a high standard and that all cleaning materials and equipment are used in accordance with the manufacturers specifications and COSHH legislation. Comply with statutory and legal requirements for Hygiene, Health and Safety and other legislation, ensuring that members of the Kitchen Team are also aware of these requirements. Ensure the security of equipment and food stocks at all times. Responsible for the people management aspects of the role, including managing attendance, performance, H&S, completing reviews, 1-2-1s, annual appraisals and training. You will be a strong team player but also have the initiative to work on your own. You will have a passion for cooking, have excellent attention to detail and be service orientated. You will display confidence, strong business acumen and the ability to forecast sales and achieve budgets. You will be approachable and dedicated to ensure that the highest standards are achieved. You will have the talent to build, develop and motivate a team to deliver excellent levels of customer care. To excel within this role, you will have: Experience in a senior role within a large banqueting kitchen environment ideally within a 4 or 5 star operation. Previous experience of catering on a large scale would be an advantage. You will have previous managerial experience within a similar role.
