The role of this Personal Care Assistant:
Our personal care assistants join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. This role will be to cover 38hrs a week over the following times, Monday to Sunday, on a rota basis:
07:00 - 14:00
07:30 - 14:30
14:00 - 23:00
14:30 - 21:30
23:00 - 07:00 sleep in
Pay rates are broken down as follows:
Monday to Friday 07:00 - 23:00 -£14.01 per hour
Saturday to Sunday 07:00 - 23:00 - £16.00 per hour
Sleep-in 23:00 - 07:00 - £11.44 per hour
All training and supervisions are paid at £11.44 per hour
About the Client and Duties
Our client is a man in his 60's with epilepsy, learning difficulties and who is profoundly deaf. He is mobile and can move around his home freely but will use his wheelchair when out in the community when fatigued. He has a great family and support network and you will be joining this team and in collaboration with the family to support him.
Our client loves books and puzzles, having rides out in the car and into the community. He takes great pride in his appearance and is described as a peaceful soul who is quiet, happy and fun-loving.
You will support our client to appointments, support with personal care, medication administering, meal preparation and general domestic work.
It is our client's preference to recruit a mature, male personal care assistant, though this is not essential.
Training and Support:
We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering:
Full induction
Safeguarding Adults
Health & Safety / First Aid / Food Hygiene
Moving & Handling
CPAP / Understanding Hearing Impairment
Epilepsy Awareness / Learning Disabilities
All training must be completed before the start date, with training hours paid at minimum wage
Requirements:
Driver with a full, clean UK driving licence
Good knowledge of epilepsy and working with learning disabilities
Good communicator
Commitment to long-term, person-centred care
You must be reliable, compassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality
