Project / Production Manager

Job Description:
The experienced Production Manager will oversee all aspects of the production process both in the workshop and with external suppliers. You will work alongside Project Managers to deliver high-end solutions to a range of clients across the UK and Europe, to a high specification, on time and within budget.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Organise and manage complex programmes of works and install schedules
* Project accounting including budget control and reporting
* Produce quotes, respond to tenders and negotiate prices to ensure value for money
* Purchase equipment and materials as agreed with MD
* Liaise with our workshop, suppliers and the project and senior management team to deliver projects
* Site management and co-ordination of suppliers, freelancers, sub-contractors, event staff and colleagues
* Develop and maintain sub-contractor and supplier relationships
* Nurture, retain and grow our workforce pool - play an active role in the recruitment and sourcing of permanent staff and production freelancers
* Recruit, train and line manage staff and sub-contractors
* Source, select and order bespoke materials and manage stocks
* Prepare H&S documentation
* Manage and mitigate risks including completion of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
* Produce job briefs and site packs for sub-contractors and colleagues where necessary
* Attend site meetings and installs as needed
* Reporting - maintain statistical data / KPIs / project management tools / procedures / databases / documents / processes / templates
* Carry out surveys and present measurements and details using specialist software
* Undertake all duties and responsibilities in compliance with the rules and regulations encompassing equal opportunities
* Undertake any other reasonable duties and onsite tasks as required commensurate with the position of Production Manager
Person Specification:
* The ability to manage multiple projects/clients/sites simultaneously
* The gravitas to manage on-site teams, suppliers and clients
* An ability to foresee potential issues and solve problems on a daily basis, whilst maintaining client expectations
* Bespoke production experience - Windows, Pop ups, events and exhibitions
* Experience in on-site health and safety and risk assessments
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills in relation to managing sub-contractors and multiple, global clients
* IT skills and an understanding of technical plans/drawings
* Proactive and positive outlook and attitude
* Enjoy working as part of a team - team player with positive outlook and attitude; willing to go above and beyond with a drive to get the job done
* The ability to multitask and to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, often to tight timescales and on own initiative
* Previous experience in similar role and within the same field
* Organisational skills
* Ability to work with people at different levels of seniority from various organisations including sub-contractors
* Good level of Maths and English
* Ability to define and follow procedures and policies
* Keen to learn and develop
