Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Fund Development to lead and grow the charity’s fundraising initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful fundraising strategy across a wide range of income streams. This includes trust funding, events, corporate partnerships, and major donors. You will play a key role in helping the charity reach its financial targets, ensuring the continued delivery of vital support to our service users.
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You will lead a growing team, made up of both paid staff and volunteers, to drive our fundraising efforts and expand our reach. Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet or exceed financial targets.
* Lead and manage the fundraising and marketing teams, ensuring the smooth operation of all fundraising activities.
* Build and maintain relationships with trusts, foundations, major donors, and corporate sponsors.
* Create compelling funding applications and proposals for core and project work.
* Oversee income generation from events, individual giving, legacies, and regular donations.
* Ensure the effective management of gift aid, in coordination with the finance team.
* Build a volunteer network to support events and fundraising activities.
* Ensure all fundraising content on the charity’s website is current and effective.
* Monitor and report on income, expenditure, and fundraising performance against targets.
Qualifications and Experience
* Senior leadership experience, with a proven record of successful fundraising.
* Expertise in fundraising strategy, financial oversight, and business development.
* Strong interpersonal skills, able to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.
* Experience within the social care or charity sector is preferred.
