DevOps/Platform Engineer
Salary: Up to £80,000 (DOE)
Location: Stevenage, Bolton, Bristol (Hybrid - 1-2 days on-site per week)
Security Clearance: British Citizen (DV Clearance required)
The Opportunity
An excellent role for a dedicated Kubernetes DevOps engineer! Join a unique, multi-national Information Management team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. If you’re a Kubernetes specialist skilled in deploying, securing, and optimising containerised solutions, this is your opportunity to guide internal teams in adopting Docker and Kubernetes, creating scalable, reusable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and optimise Kubernetes environments, focusing on health, performance, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with IM functions and engineering teams to support containers for rapid development and testing.
• Lead automation initiatives to streamline IT services and ensure efficient deployment.
• Conduct workshops to educate colleagues on Kubernetes platforms and container creation.
The ideal candidate:
• Strong proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Harbour, Helm, Nexus, Artifactory, Python, GitLab, and Ansible.
• Expert Linux OS skills, particularly with RHEL, and command-line scripting (bash, Python).
• Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and monitoring/logging tools for service continuity.
• Knowledge of security best practices for Kubernetes and containerised solutions.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with OpenShift and CI/CD practices is a plus.
