Anderson Knight is currently recruiting for a Senior Production Manager.
Our client is a leading UK wide manufacturer,this role will sit within their Glasgow Operation.
The Senior Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations and ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves managing production teams, optimizing production processes, improving safety standards, and driving operational excellence to meet company objectives. The Senior Production Manager will play a key role in production planning, resource management, budget control, and process improvement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling:
•Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while meeting quality standards.
•Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Procurement, Quality Assurance, Logistics) to ensure alignment of production schedules and inventory levels.
•Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays or disruptions.
Team Leadership & Development:
•Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff.
•Ensure that production teams are well-trained on processes, equipment, safety standards, and quality expectations.
•Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
•Analyse production processes and identify opportunities for process optimization to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
•Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to drive operational improvements.
•Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and production metrics to ensure operational goals are met.
Quality Control & Compliance:
•Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
•Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
•Develop and enforce best practices in quality control and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Budget & Resource Management:
•Manage production budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources, equipment.
•Monitor production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and work with senior management to optimize operational spending.
•Oversee inventory control, ensuring efficient use of materials and minimizing excess stock.
Skills and Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in, Manufacturing (food or drinks sector related) or related field (preferred).
•Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar are highly desirable.
•Minimum of 6 years of experience in a production management role, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership position.
•Strong background in managing large teams and complex production operations.
•Proven experience with process optimization, cost control, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
