About the Role
The Commercial Manager reports to the Senior Commercial Manager and is responsible for delivering the agreed annual volume, GM/L and EBITDA budgets for the designated brands. Together with the SBM, the Brand Manager will develop & deliver the strategic long-term plans for the designated brand portfolio for Refresco UK across all trade channels.
To work with the wider commercial team to grow the volume and profitability of the designated brand portfolio and to work with the Head of Marketing to identify and develop new product and distribution opportunities for Refresco UK.
Here are your key tasks and responsibilities as Commercial Brand Manager at Refresco:
* Lead & develop the direction for business growth of the designated brand portfolio for Refresco UK across all target trade channels.
* Develop the annual budgets for the designated brand portfolio within the target sales channels, including all pricing, promotional and trade spend management (in conjunction with the Trade Marketing Manager) to ensure profitable plans are in place.
* Management of the designated brands to deliver improved profitability including management of stocks and packaging, value engineering, NPD, pricing recommendations and promotional support.
* Work with the nominated management accountant to support the development of all required P&L’s and pricing, for approval by senior management.
* Gain sign off and approval where required from all brand principals / managed brands and ensure a paper/email trail is kept for audit purposes.
* Develop & manage relationships with brand owners including regular meetings and calls to keep brand owners up to speed with performance, challenges & future plans.
* Identify, develop and manage NPD opportunities for the products for branded growth from inception to launch, focusing on all trade channels and especially by leveraging existing brands into new soft drink categories.
* Ensure the appropriate systems, protocols and best practices are in place for the smooth and effective running of the business in line with Refresco UK and customer’s requirements.
* Develop a proactive and results-orientated approach with the wider commercial team to grow volumes and improve profitability within all trade channels.
* Build relationships with key customers and influencers within each trade channel to build loyalty for the brand.
* Work with the wider commercial team to identify opportunities and risks within their accounts and plan accordingly to ensure Refresco share and business achieves above market performance.
About You
The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated history of success in the FMCG industry at a senior management level. FMCG experience is essential, ideally within both brand and private label sectors.
* Strong analytical abilities, with the capacity to integrate insights from diverse sources, identify patterns in data, trends, and events, and generate meaningful conclusions.
* Excellent presentation skills, comfortable delivering presentations internally and externally across all levels.
* Effective listening and influencing skills, actively seeking and considering input from others to foster alignment on ideas.
* Strong time management capabilities, adept at multitasking and prioritizing agendas efficiently.
* Outstanding communication skills, able to engage effectively with senior customer stakeholders.
