We currently have an opening for an experienced Strategic Procurement Specialist. The Strategic Procurement Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with the organisation’s goals. This role involves identifying, evaluating, and engaging suppliers globally to procure goods and services efficiently while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of leading new business projects, demonstrating the ability to drive innovation and achieve strategic objectives. Responsibilities Supplier Research and Evaluation - Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities, reliability, and pricing with attention to market trends and demographics. Negotiation - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favourable agreements that align with business objectives. Cost Analysis and Optimisation - Analyse total cost of ownership and market trends to identify cost-effective sourcing opportunities and drive savings initiatives with emphasis on sustainability. Project Management - Identify, plan, organise, and execute sourcing projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful outcomes. Global Sourcing Expertise - Leverage global sourcing experience to diversify supplier bases, navigate international markets, and optimise sourcing strategies across regions. Risk Management - Identify and assess risks associated with sourcing activities, developing strategies to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, sales and product development, to align sourcing strategies with organisational goals. Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing - Ensure suppliers have established sustainable and ethical sourcing practices compliant with environmental and labour standards. Requirements Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage suppliers and stakeholders effectively. Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Knowledge of global sourcing practices, trade regulations, and compliance requirements. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills Proficient in sourcing and procurement software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in ERP/MRP. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field Experience in sustainable packaging and knowledge of eco-friendly materials and practices. Previous experience in a fast paced Manufacturing environment – ideally food manufacturing or equivalent Demonstrates a good sense of priorities, structures workload effectively and delivers consistently good results Attention to detail across all aspects of the role Flexible & adaptable to the changing requirements of the business Ability to meet deadlines and work under time pressures Apply today with an up to date CV.
