An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative, flexible, and well-motivated Occupational Therapist to join the East Integrated Rehabilitation Team based primarily within the community rehab therapy team at Liskeard Community Hospital.
Under the umbrella of the East Integrated Rehab Team, we provide high quality rehabilitation and reablement in the community provided alongside step-down intermediate care in the community bedded settings of Liskeard and Launceston hospitals to adults (aged 18 years or over) who need support after discharge from acute inpatient settings and virtual wards to help them rehabilitate, re-able and recover in East Cornwall.
The post holder will treat patients with complex and varied pathologies and presentations, including a wide variety of conditions e.g., neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory, frailty, and falls. Every contact, treatment plan, and working environment are different bringing variety and challenge to each working day.
It is desired that staff work flexibly in line with a 'one workforce' culture across services, settings, and sectors, building relationships and increasing skills. The community rehabilitation model aims to increase capacity and access to high quality therapy-led rehabilitation assessments and interventions that are timely, safe, and person-centred, for people discharged on intermediate care pathways from acute settings and virtual wards.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide a high standard occupational therapy service.
2. Provide assessment and treatment/management of patients, some of whom may have acute, complex and/or chronic presentations, carried out as an autonomous practitioner.
3. Supervise and delegate to allied health professional support workers.
4. Work as part of the East Integrated Rehabilitation Team, to ensure a high standard of intervention and effective and efficient service to patients.
5. Practice as a lone worker under the supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist.
6. Provide supervision for support staff and participate in Student Education.
7. Work flexibly across all areas of the East Integrated Therapy Team, with a potential requirement for seven-day working in the future.
Regular clinical supervision will be provided and continuing professional development encouraged. We would welcome informal visits to the team.

Person Specification
Role Requirement
* HCPC registered
* Professional Qualifications taken in English Language or appropriate qualification from the International Language Testing System (IELTS)
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
Experience
* Evidence of working in NHS setting
* Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
Skills and Aptitude
* Understanding of the roles of colleagues in health and social care
* Up to date clinical skills
* Understanding of conditions that can result in long term disability
