Job Description
Summary/objective
Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi-Cola Bottler founded in Birmingham, AL, more than years ago. The Vertique Level 3 positions are responsible for knowing all Vertique Levels 1 & 2 job functions and able to successfully perform some Level 3 functions that include: receiving inbound loads, Vertique pallet checking, inventory control functions, loading outbound loads, and float throughout these roles.
Essential functions
1. Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position. Position is required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations function is fulfilled, including nights, weekends, holidays
2. These positions will responsible in the following areas in their Level 3 positions: processing and verifying inbound product matching to BOL’s, verifying dates of product so not to have issue with short-dated product, verify outbound pallets (by product and route number) going through the Vertique system so that loaders get the correct pallets, loading product from the Vertique line and pallet picks onto outbound trailers, completing and verifying cycle counts, and analyzing inventory reports. This position is responsible for multi-tasking and making sound decisions in a noisy and time-sensitive environment.
3. Maintain proper function of machines through intermediate problem-solving skills and logic to include simple data manipulation.
4. Complete daily/weekly/monthly physical inventory counts as needed.
5. Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
6. Remove pallets from palletizers and staging areas and loading into correct door by trailer/route #.
7. Receiver - Ability to read PO’s, run receiving labels (LBI), verify receipt versus BOL, and close out PO’s.
8. Receiver – Must be able to utilize VPI to verify inbound appointment requests to schedule inbound PO’s.
9. Handstack – Placing top off cases on pallet. Ensures accuracy and integrity of pallet before it runs through the palletizer. Troubleshoot any palletizer issues while following all safety guidelines.
10. Sanitation – Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and building.
11. Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.
12. Pay attention to detail and be able to differentiate between packages (Full understanding of package dimensions, descriptions, SKU numbers).
13. Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section. Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes. Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
14. Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method. Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to Web Based and/or facilitated training.
15. Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen.
16. Other assigned duties as needed.

Work environment:
Working conditions will require both inside warehouse needs and outside pallet/tray production support. Temperature conditions will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold.

26. Ability to lift over 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
27. Ability to work in a noisy and non-climate controlled (Hot in summer, cold in winter) environment.

Required education and experience
33. High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
34. 3+ years warehouse experience preferred
35. Intermediate Computer skills: Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet Explorer: Required.
36. Must have at least 1 year experience with a WMS application, or similar system functionality (Red Prairie, SAP, Manhattan, for example), and be able to perform receiving, shipping, and inventory control functions within the system.
37. Must have 3+ years of forklift experience which includes sit down and stand-up forklift.
38. Must have prior experience with manual loading and unloading of product in high volume work environment.
39. Experience working in an automated environment.
40. Intermediate proficiency with Personal Computers and basic use of Windows environment required.
41. Be able to read product packaging and communicate in English via radio.
