Role: Assistant Developer Location: Manchester (Hybrid) Duration: Fixed Term Contract 12 Months Role Description As an Assistant Developer in the clients Modelling and Economics (TAME) team, you will assist the development and maintenance of web products, including supporting the development and maintenance of our website, and development and deployment of our visualisation dashboards. Practically, you will be required to deliver scripts, software, web services and web development, facilitating the provision of data, analytics and assurance services, as set out within your role profile below. This role represents a unique opportunity to be involved in the development of scalable, publicly visible technical products; including the website, which is one of the principal ways we engage with our partners, stakeholders and the public. The TAME team works closely with our strategy and policy makers in the North to analyse and appraise the most appropriate interventions in our future investment portfolio. This includes developing new and innovative methods to deliver robust evidence through web solutions. Key Skills Previous experience of designing scripts, software and web services; alongside experience with any wireframing software (preferably including working knowledge Microsoft Azure). knowledge and familiarity with development of static and dynamic web service front ends, such as visualisations backed by complex datasets, static webpages and interactive GIS models, with understanding of webcentric languages like JavaScript, Python and PHP. Previous experience of successful work on websites and relevant coding experience in line with this. Previous experience in successfully supporting programmes of work and of prioritising workloads. Ability to support the production of clear and concise reports and code documentation. Ability to communicate/present complex information concisely and to a non-technical audience. Demonstrated effectiveness in using professional/technical expertise to make decisions and provide guidance to colleagues. ADZN1_UKTJ
