and main responsibilities
·Lead on the design, development, delivery, facilitation, maintenance, modification and evaluation of high quality, innovative learning and teaching activities in gastrointestinal nursing programmes in conjunction with Birmingham City University and Hollister.
·Initiate, devise, develop, modify and facilitate new education in conjunction with the Trust and/or Birmingham City University at all levels as defined by service requirements.
·Ensure a high quality of academic input in relation to gastrointestinal nursing in the planning, teaching, assessing and evaluation of educational programmes; delivered according to Trust and University policies and procedures; utilising complex mental effort.
·Maintain and where necessary create and plan an educational framework ensuring compatibility with Departmental, University and Trust objectives. Set and maintain agreed standards of training and assessment.
·Lead on the selection and support of students on programmes of study related to gastrointestinal nursing. Undertake personal and supervisory tutorial responsibilities for students on relevant modules and programmes demonstrating emotional awareness.
·Direct line manager for staff.
·Use high levels of mental effort to monitor, evaluate and present complex data in relation to teaching and other work responsibilities as required for formal reporting and academic quality purposes, including at Examination Boards and Programme Committees.
·Maintain professional, commercial and academic contacts and to employ these to further teaching and learning within the St Mark’s.

·Utilise high levels of mental, emotional and physical effort to retain an expert clinical focus and so effectively promote clinical development and practice-based education within St Mark’s.
·Promote excellence in clinical practice; sharing best practice in both internal and external settings.
·Support the multidisciplinary, collaborative and inter-professional culture within the Trust and University community.
·Contribute to the on-going development of close working relationships that the Trust has with other external agencies through active participation in meetings and work groups as appropriate.
