In this pivotal role, you’ll manage regional sampling operations, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards (ISO/IEC 17025 and MCERTS) and regulatory requirements set by the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) and Environment Agency (EA). From maintaining robust processes to training and developing your team, you’ll ensure the highest levels of service while continually identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage regional teams in delivering water and wastewater sampling activities to meet regulatory and business priorities. Foster a culture of quality and compliance, ensuring adherence to Southern Water’s quality systems and accreditation standards. Ensure safety remains paramount by promoting a strong health and safety ethos and adherence to policies. Oversee the availability and maintenance of sampling equipment, vehicles, and facilities in collaboration with procurement and transport teams. Manage and control regional budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness in sampling activities. Play a lead role in accreditation audits and ensure data integrity through the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Collaborate with senior managers to influence strategy and implement process improvements. What You’ll Bring To The Role We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills, a broad understanding of water and wastewater processes, and the ability to interpret complex regulations into actionable practices. You’ll thrive on working independently, leading a team, and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Essential Skills & Experience Knowledge and experience of working to ISO/IEC 17025 and MCERTS standards. Familiarity with DWI and EA regulatory requirements.
