Casual rate $35.71- $40.26 based on experience
The Individual Programs Department is responsible for the coordination and management of support services for students with specific learning needs.
The Learning Support Assistant is primarily responsible for providing learning support to students identified through the National Consistent Collection of Data on School Students.
This role will be supporting students in the Junior School from Prep to Year 4.
* This is a casual position
* Commencing 28 January 2025
* Roles available at the Berwick and Pakenham Campuses
* Working Monday to Friday, 9.45 am to 3.30 pm (approximate hours)
* Must have a current first aid certificate
A key responsibility within this position will be to provide direct care and management of students with diabetes. This will include:
* Conducting and monitoring blood glucose level (BGL) checks
* Being immediately available to support the student with diabetes
* Understanding and interpreting personalised Diabetes Management Plans
* Demonstrating a capacity to manage complex and fluctuating medical conditions
* Liaising and undertaking direction from the Campus Nurse and classroom teacher
The successful incumbent will be provided with comprehensive additional training in the condition of diabetes and understanding diabetic management plans.
