Support Worker – SOLOAXY
Location Gloucestershire - GL2.
Hourly rate - £19.50 per hour
Contracted hours are available
Shadow shifts and training will be paid at £16.70 per hour.
I am a young man in my 20’s with severe learning difficulties who has a diagnosis of autism with associated anxiety, behaviours that can challenge and epilepsy. I live at home with my parents and family pets (dog and cat, both hypoallergenic breeds).
I have an infectious smile and giggle and enjoy listening to music and sensory activities.
I am looking for support workers to support me with my care needs on a 2:1 basis for 1-2 days a week and to help me engage in activities I enjoy, mainly within the home, but looking to going out for activities in the longer term. They would also be required to administer medication.
Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour is essential. Experience of autism, learning difficulties, mental health and epilepsy is desirable but not essential to those eager to learn as training will be given.
Candidates would need to have a calm, caring, positive and patient nature, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and integrity and be respectful of my home. They should be good communicators, reliable and ideally non-smokers.
Full training will be provided.
5.6 weeks holiday is awarded per year as standard (pro rata for part time positions). Employees are also able to join the Company Pension scheme after 3 months’ service, subject to the rules of the scheme, as well as our Cash Back Health Plan after completion of a successful probation period.
