A Specialist school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is looking for experienced Behaviour Teaching Assistants who can join the school to support their pupils on a long-term basis.
The Role
The school is looking for a highly skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant with experience of working with A.S.D./SEMH pupils. You will be supporting them in developing their day-to-day and academic skills, as well as their social emotional needs. You will have a timetable to provide interventions and cover classes across the school. As part of your role, the school would ideally like to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities both in and out of school, under an agreed system of supervision that supports the teacher with learning outcomes.
Due to the nature of this role, the school is looking for Teaching Assistants with previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs. PRU or similar experience would be preferable.
The School
This small, independent school specializes in providing schooling for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
The dedicated staff team is committed to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment that is adaptable to meet each student’s needs. The school offers stability needed to gain emotional balance and wellbeing support to allow students to develop their self-esteem and a positive attitude towards lifelong learning. Alongside the core teaching and support staff are a team of therapists and outreach workers providing the students with a rounded support programme.
The school is based in Wembley and benefits from being part of a larger charity focused on improving the mental health and well-being of children.
There is established leadership in place at the school that holds consistently high standards for their staff and there are good opportunities for professional development and career progression within the school.
If you have previous experience supporting young people with SEMH and behavioural needs and would like the opportunity to work in a supportive and progressive school, please apply immediately with an up-to-date CV outlining your experience.
