Teaching Assistant (Level 3) Location: Special Resource Provision, Henley-in-Arden C of E Primary School Employer: Arden Forest C of E MAT Contract type: Permanent Working pattern: Term time Hours: Full time (8.30am – 3.30pm) Term time only Closing date for applications: Wednesday 25th September 2024 at 1.00pm Starting date: October 2024 (or as soon as possible) Salary: NJC - 18-22; Actual salary £22113 - £23696 About the Role: In October 2021, Henley-in Arden C of E Primary School opened a Special Resource Provision (SRP) to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The governors are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join its enthusiastic and dedicated team. Within this role, the successful candidate will work as part of a team within the SRP to support children, which supports 14 children. The role will include providing one-to-one support and working in small groups. The individual taking on this role will need to be highly motivated, calm, patient and able to adapt quickly to different situations. Relevant experience and appropriate qualifications such as NVQ level 3 are essential. Previous experience of supporting children with SEND and with SEMH needs would be an advantage. What is a Special Resource Provision? An SRP is a provision, within a mainstream school, designed to provide specialist and targeted support for children with long term special educational needs (SEN). SRPs are additionally funded which means that a school SRP receives additional resources. SRP’s are able to offer:- • Specialist environments which support the learning needs of each pupil. • Systems to track small-step progress and wider outcomes. • SRPs are small scale, typically providing for between 10 and 14 pupils in primary schools • Where appropriate, access to lessons in mainstream classes, in addition to specialist resources and teaching. • To actively involve parents/carers in the review and delivery of the provision. • To actively teach pupils to develop strategies for achieving successful outcomes • SRP’s specialise in a particular area of special educational needs and is an integral part of the school.
