Technical Internal Sales Specialist – Process Automation

The Role
As a Technical Internal Sales Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in driving the growth of the Process Automation division by providing technical sales support and delivering practical solutions to customers. You’ll be the go-to technical contact for clients, assisting with product queries and ensuring the right solutions are delivered efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include preparing valve schedules, generating accurate quotes, and supporting product launches. You’ll also work closely with Product Management and Sales teams to develop market opportunities, provide technical training, and contribute to achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical advice and support on products such as valves, actuators, seals, and flow control systems.
* Prepare detailed valve schedules and customer quotations for process automation projects.
* Stay up to date with market trends and competitor activity, identifying new sales opportunities.
* Support product launches and work with Product Management to develop the product portfolio.
* Assist the Head of Process Automation in monthly reporting and team performance reviews.
* Manage pricing strategies and collaborate with Stock Control to ensure inventory levels meet business needs.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a technical background in process automation and instrumentation, who can confidently discuss products like valves, actuators, and flow control systems with both customers and internal teams.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have previous experience in a similar technical support or internal sales role.
* Hold an engineering qualification (HNC or higher) or have equivalent technical experience.
* Be commercially aware, with strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Have excellent communication skills, able to present technical information clearly and concisely whilst building rapport.
* Be a team player, able to collaborate effectively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
