Operational Support Manager (Band 7 development opportunity)

Two exciting opportunities have arisen in the Acute Medicine and Urgent Care Teams to join a well-established Directorate Operational Management Team in the delivery of performance standards and day-to-day services.
We welcome applicants who are highly motivated, understand the current challenges for operations within the NHS, and have the ability to build strong working relationships in order to influence and change practice.
Each role involves working closely with the operational teams to lead and support a diverse range of operational plans, assisting with data collection/analysis, and contributing to operational service delivery with an adaptable and innovative approach Directorate-wide. Experience of job planning, improving productivity, and associated IT systems would be desirable.
We are recruiting to 2 posts
Main duties of the job
* Provide support to the specialties in facilitating achievement of key performance standards.
* Support achievement, planning, and monitoring of 18-week RTT pathways and targets.
* Monitor cancer pathways of care by attending all specialty cancer team meetings to track and monitor pathways against the standards and targets.
* Participate in weekly monitoring of surgical capacity and demand, ensuring theatre sessions for the specialties are booked to capacity.
* Manage surgical bed capacity, ensuring day case and surgical bed availability is maximized.
* Support operational teams with developing SBARs, Business Cases, and Capital bids as required.
* Ensure Governance Performance and Standards are integrated into the specialties.
* Support operational teams with specialty and trust-wide projects, ensuring deadlines and targets are met.
* Assist with budget and financial management ensuring appropriate use of resources.
