Support Artist - Writing for Performance

An exciting opportunity to join our Freelance Artist Team and support the delivery of vibrant, supportive and engaging creative writing workshops for young people aged 16-25.
Writing for Performance offers 16-25 year olds a supportive and nurturing environment in which to develop their creative writing skills, with a particular focus on playwriting.
The Support Artist will work alongside the Lead Artist to ensure that all participants are safe, supported and able to fully engage with creative activity. They will read and critique participants' creative writing in a sensitive and appropriate manner, as well as offering guidance and insight into how to improve their work.
We are also looking to expand our bank of cover artists, so applicants who are unsuccessful in their interviews for this specific role may be offered further opportunities within our freelance team.
Reports to: Youth Theatre Coordinator
Fee: £30/hr
Session times: Wednesdays 6-8pm, Townhead Village Hall. Please note, you may be required to attend additional meetings, events, performances, etc., for which you will be paid an additional fee.
Start date: Wednesday 22nd January
Contract duration: We contract our freelance artists for term blocks of 10 weeks. This contract may be renewed for further terms, dependent on programme and funding.
This role involves regulated work with children, and as such, the successful applicant will be required to register with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme (this will be processed by Toonspeak).
