The Job
You will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities across our compound feed mills and blends plants. This includes the creation and execution of the engineering strategy, coordination of the repair and maintenance plan and management of capital and revenue projects, to ensure all equipment, plant and facilities operate efficiently and are maintained safely and in compliance with relevant legislation.
* Oversee all maintenance activities across all production sites to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
* Develop and execute the engineering strategy, ensuring it aligns with the overall strategic business objectives.
* Manage the engineering repairs and maintenance budget, together with the capital expenditure budget for all production sites.
* Ensure that the preventative maintenance programs for the business are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain appropriate and relevant.
* To lead the design, costing, installation and implementation of all aspects of annual maintenance and CAPEX project work required.
* Continually identify opportunities for improved performance, efficiencies and cost savings whilst ensuring that all current and impending legislative requirements are met.
* Ensure that all operational sites and new installations comply with the requirements of H&S legislation, IPPC Permit conditions, HACCP and UFAS accreditation.
* Be the principal contact to the operational teams for the maintenance and operational performance of new and existing plant.
* Monitor and report on KPI's linked to maintenance, project and plant performance.
* To be actively involved in the in delivery of projects to upgrade manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to the installation, development of functional and technical specifications, coordination of contractors and necessary documentation for commissioning, training and maintenance.
* Working alongside the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager ensure that the safety standards of existing plant and equipment across the mills are maintained in line with company policy and procedures.
* Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
* Lead the implementation of engineering best practice and approved management standards and systems across the business.
* Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental and Feed Safety.
* To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes.Workshop.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED
Essential
Extensive experience in leading large maintenance functions within feed production on a large scale.
Degree within a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical engineering etc) or equivalent level of training or experience
NEBOSH CDM
Proven track record in manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong financial and business acumen with experience of managing large budgets.
Organisational change management experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative mindset.
Demonstrates a steadfast commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality practices and leads by example in all HSEQ-related matters.
Desirable
Membership of an industry-related professional body desirable
Experience of working within a manufacturing environment and working within relevant safety and quality policies including UFAS, HACCP, ISO14001, ISO45001
Experience of using Microsoft D365.
