We are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Team Leader in Carrington.
Our Carrington site is located approximately 10 miles from the City of Manchester, England, and covers an area of 300 acres. The site began operations in 1949, and today produces polypropylene resins used for a wide variety of products. Our polypropylene plant produces resins for use in carpet fibers, ropes and textiles, molded products such as food containers, crates, chairs, car components and film for many packaging applications
Basic Function
The purpose of the job is to direct and manage technical team and resources to ensure planned maintenance schedules are delivered to agreed costs & times.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Line management responsibility for maintenance team and site planning engineer
2. Maintain a consistent, proactive and positive approach to leadership to ensure a harmonious and effective employee relations climate within team.
3. Ensure company and site HSE standards and procedures are consistently applied, while identifying and delivering opportunities for improvement within maintenance team.
4. Ensure maintenance operations are carried out meeting safety and environmental targets and good levels of housekeeping.
5. Ensure inspection targets are met for all engineering disciplines, are in compliance with site targets and appropriate records updated.
6. Monitor and review maintenance operations to ensure quality standards are maintained and improved.
7. Manage and coordinate planned maintenance activities (preventive, reactive, shutdown events, projects, inspection, revenue expenditure and MOC activities) in conjunction with production personnel to enable the safe, efficient and cost effective care of assets.
8. Monitor and review planned maintenance and reactive maintenance performance, supporting engineering team members in the diagnosis and correction of faults, to obtain continuous improvement in the efficiency and cost effectiveness of production operations.
9. Provide, co-ordinate and manage contractor activity within area of responsibility ensuring cost effective utilisation.
10. Responsible for the estimation, execution and cost control for all planned shutdowns.
11. Preparation of shutdown budgets and project proposals and subsequent coordination of all shutdowns for production units along with other major works.
12. Update and review inputs to SAP in a timely and accurate manner to optimize accuracy of maintenance cost control.
13. Management of maintenance workshop infrastructure and facilities.
14. Management and control of all small /medium size maintenance contracts ensuring best value and maintenance cover.
15. Management of main site maintenance contract to ensure compliance with current HSE legislation and delivery of all KPI’s
16. Management of inspection schedules & resources to comply with both regulatory and LYB guidelines/standards.
17. Alert line manager on all issues associated with statutory inspections.
18. Ensure Inspection M6 notifications are signed off and reports stored on G Drive with hard copies filed in DA folders.
19. Ensure Inspection recommendations are input into SAP, M7 notifications.
20. Plan, co-ordinate and participate in training program for members of the maintenance teams to maintain flexibility in the utilization of resources.
21. Develop and maintain effective communication channels with Lyondellbasell and contractor personnel to ensure effective cross site coordination of production operations.
22. Authorised Engineer (AE) site signatory for relevant discipline on Safety Certification
23. Undertake responsibility as the Site Lifting Engineer Focal Point
24. Deputise for the Site Maintenance Planner & Site Maintenance Manager
25. Actively contribute to the development of a world class reliability culture on site
Qualifications and Experience
26. HNC or higher in engineering discipline
27. Minimum of 8-10 years post qualification working within the same or similar environment
28. Knowledge of area equipment & maintenance activities

Terms and Conditions
Starting salary is negotiable commensurate with experience.
We offer a generous package including an annual bonus opportunity of 10%, based on company, site and individual performance
Working hours are 5 days/week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm with a half hour unpaid break for lunch.
25 days' paid holiday per year plus bank holidays increasing to 29 with service.
