Maternity Cover
In the heart of St Albans, Hertfordshire, a 'good' Secondary School is on the hunt for a Science Teacher (ideally Biology; however, the headteacher is open to all specialisms) for a September 2025 start. This is a full-time maternity cover (which could become permanent and is employed directly by the school).
The Head Teacher is looking for an ambitious Science Teacher who is keen to add value to an expanding department. The school is renowned for its supportive SLT and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects.
At A level, the faculty has over 50 high-achieving students studying the sciences, with many studying two or more. At GCSE, the top sets study the AQA Separate Science Course, while the rest follow the AQA Combined Science Course. The department has eight dedicated science labs and four prep rooms.
The school is well invested in the Education sector, setting new teaching practices, as well as training their own and new staff. It's an exciting time at the school!
Early Career Teachers of Science (ECT) will be enrolled in the school's bespoke ECT induction and will work alongside a range of young and experienced teachers.
