Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa is looking for a strong chef de partie to join the "Lounge & Terrace" kitchen. This kitchen provides food to our busiest resident area within the hotel bringing local produce, relaxed dining options and a warm atmosphere. Duties will consist of assisting the head and sous chef with their daily tasks. Wages dependent on experience.
Chance to get qualifications topped up or renewed through our training scheme. We will ask you to do level 2 food hygiene as well as an allergens course which are both online unless you already can provide certification for them.
Responsibilities
* Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
* Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
* Cook menu items in cooperation with the head chef's specifications.
* Answer, report and follow head or sous chef’s instructions.
* Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
* Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and health & safety standards.
* Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
Skills
* Proven cooking experience in gastro pub environments and busy kitchens.
* Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
* Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
* Familiar with industry’s best practices.
