Description
You are a Foreperson with experience in construction and telecommunications/utility installation. You’ll work independently or with a team to execute project plans, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include managing safety, performance, and quality, while delegating tasks to field staff, contractors, and tradespeople.

Essential Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates leadership in health, safety, and environmental protections on the project.
2. Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance of Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S/OSHA Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project.
3. Leads a team of 4 - 6 employees in the planning, execution, and billing of a project.
4. Trains, supports and offers guidance to new hires.
5. Ensures project schedules are met while maintaining company standards in regard to quality protocols.
6. Ensures that all tailboards, timesheets, driver’s logbooks, and billing are handed in on time.
7. Ensures compliance with municipality hours of work, traffic protection, environmental standards, traffic bylaws, and restoration standards.
8. Manages escalations and provides exceptional customer service to clients related to quality, work performed, standards, etc.
9. Oversees all client specific requirements based on contract requirements.
Qualifications
1. 3 to 5 years of telecommunications construction experience as a Foreperson or Lead Hand Labourer, overseeing multiple project locations simultaneously.
2. Good understanding of current construction practices and field concepts, practices, and procedures (including OSP).
3. Telecom experience an asset.
4. Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes.
5. Experience with operating industry specific equipment such as vibratory plows, small excavators, skid steers, backhoes and road cut saws.
6. Ability to lead and direct the work of others, including the supervision of subcontractors.
7. Effective organizational and planning skills; proven experience organizing workloads, managing multiple priorities, and working with multiple deadlines.
8. Aptitude for learning new technology and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Outlook.
9. Familiarity with protocol and practices of large telecommunications providers.
10. Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license and driver's abstract.
11. Successful completion of the security clearance process.
Working Conditions
1. Travel to various sites across Ontario is required.
2. Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
3. Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, lifting (up to 75 pounds), in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.).
4. Applicants that reside in the Cornwall area will be given preference due to the location of this project.
