Hays Civil Engineering is delighted to be partnering with Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD), a firm of civil, structural, and environmental engineering consultants established for 50 years and headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. ROD has an office in Otley and two offices in Dublin, with current annual revenues exceeding £20M and over 200 employees.
ROD is seeking to recruit an Associate/Technical Director to support the further growth of the ROD UKL business in the transportation sector. This role is ideal for an individual with a proven ability to provide technical leadership and develop professional teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership for the transportation team, overseeing, supporting, advising, and coaching engineering professionals.
2. Supervise highways and transportation projects, lead design evolution and checking with full technical responsibility for deliverables.
3. Lead and direct bidding efforts for new highways and transportation projects.
4. Be part of the management team in the wider ROD Transportation Group.
5. Maintain excellent levels of customer service.
6. Report to the Managing Director of the ROD UKL business.
7. Undertake group-wide management functions allocated by the Board.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. A Chartered Engineer with a university degree.
2. Excellent technical skills in the design of highways, streets, and transportation projects.
3. Experienced Bid Manager with excellent bid writing and tender price estimation skills.
4. Commercial and financial acumen.
5. Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
6. Capable of representing the company with clients and external parties.
7. Experience of traffic network analysis is desirable but not essential.
