As the Insurance Coordinator, you will contribute to the overall success of the Insurance Canada Processing Centre team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. You will also ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
1. Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
2. Accurately process customer and internal requests for changes, actions and corrections related to creditor insurance, from domestic branches, other bank departments, contact centre, and Insurance Canada Service Centre (ICSC).
3. Manage inbound 800 Line to respond to telephone inquiries by ensuring that action is taken to fully address the inquiry.
4. Assist with investigations and complaint resolution to support resolving customer inquiries and escalations, including issue management and remediation activities.
5. Maintain strict adherence to established operating and security procedures, adhering to established Bank regulations and procedures within assigned authority and responsibility.
6. Report and/or escalate unusual occurrences or fraudulent activity to the Supervisor, with recommendations where appropriate.
7. Complete all required compliance training and adhere to policies (e.g. Anti money Laundering, Guidelines for Business Conduct).
8. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
9. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
1. Comfortability working in a hybrid work environment within a commutable distance to Stratford, Ontario.
2. Previous administration experience in an office setting.
3. Knowledge of creditor insurance products, programs, policies and procedures would be considered an asset.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Proven analytical, problem solving and organization skills.
6. Knowledge of Scotiabank’s accounting controls and regulatory compliance requirements, as well as systems (Intralink, PEGA, TLS, CIS, ED, MIMS, AS400, KS) would be considered an asset.
7. Comfortability with using and learning new technology tools, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
