Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description As a Buyer II at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have the unique opportunity to support the Senior Buyer, Purchasing in developing strategic relationships with the supply base. You will play a crucial role in improving supplier performance across quality and delivery, while also mitigating supply chain risk through robust contract and relationship management processes. In this role, you will take ownership of projects and have a larger remit in terms of procurement and sourcing responsibility. Essential Functions: Support the Senior Buyer, Purchasing in developing ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency and business performance Set up and review supplier agreements Resolve high-level issues regarding price, quality, delivery, or payment Research and evaluate areas of opportunity to mitigate risk and reduce costs Improve overall procurement processes and work instructions Foster collaborative working relationships with colleagues across different departments within the organization. Lead and support continuous improvement projects Provide support to the Material Planning team Create and maintain management information reports Relationship Management: Collaborate, negotiate, and engage with individuals and organizations involved in new projects, supplies, and initiatives. Address and communicate issues or concerns that may arise, ensuring appropriate resolution.
