Job summary Blyth Road Medical Centre is looking to recruit a part time Receptionist/Administrator to cover for Maternity Leave. This is a temporary for 6 to 9 months to start in April, but may lead to a permanent position. Working hours will generally be Tuesday 8am - 12:30, Wednesday 8am - 12:30, Thursday 8am - 1pm and Friday 2-6:30pm, but applicants must be flexible to cover any shifts for holidays and sickness Monday to Friday between 8am - 6:30pm. Annual leave is in line with Agenda for Change. Experience of working in a GP Practice would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given. Receiving, checking and printing requests for repeat prescriptions when required Receiving and routing patients on arrival, in courteous and efficient manner Actioning tasks and emails Arranging interpreters Act as a Chaperone when required Answering general enquiries at the reception desk and by telephone, explaining surgery procedures, making new and follow-up appointments Entering requests for appointments onto the Online Consultation Triage system and completing any actions as per clinicians Filing and extracting medical records, hospital reports and letters and any other documentation relating to these Receiving, recording and passing of detailed and accurate requests for home visits to the clinicians Receiving, recording and passing accurate messages for all members of the practice.
