Our team in Liverpool are recruiting a committed Harm Reduction Lead, who will provide support, information and advice to individuals in relation to reducing drug and alcohol related harm. If you are passionate about promoting safer drug use practices, we'd love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
This role will support the delivery of the Liverpool services Harm Reduction offer. You will play a leading role in the development of this offer alongside an Advanced Practitioner who is the service lead, and a team of experienced Recovery Workers. The role will include leading the Harm Reduction service alongside an experienced and dedicated team of Recovery Workers. You will deliver Needle Exchange Provision internally and externally a mobile needle exchange. You will have experience in the substance misuse field and have a passion for supporting individuals to reduce harm to themselves and work to recovery goals.

Please note, that this is a Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025 What we're looking for You will have a minimum of two years experience in health and social care, criminal justice or another relevant setting, as well as holding a NVQ 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent. You will be a compassionate and motivated individual with a demonstrable track record of working with substance misuse clients, having the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity. This is a busy team, with multiple priorities ongoing, so it's important that you are highly organised and resilient and able to manage your time effectively. 10. Attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months.
11. Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years' worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

12. To be successful in this role, you will:
13. Minimum of 2 years experience of working in the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting
14. Successful track record of working with substance misuse clients
15. Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for clients
16. Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external

18. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

20. Ability to work autonomously and make reasoned decisions without immediate managerial guidance.
21. Good written and oral communication skills.
