Summer 2024 brings exciting new equipment to the centre of our mission, including a 5-metre Tunnel Washer, a HyDro Water Reclamation System, and enhanced dryers, irons, and folders. The Maintenance team will play an integral role in ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of the equipment in a site that operates 24/7.

About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will perform both proactive and reactive maintenance tasks on the laundry equipment at Big Blue and the facility itself, as well as occasional maintenance activities at our other lagoons. You will be required to work in a highly automated environment and use your technical skills to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency of the equipment.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Servicing & PPMs - regular servicing and planned preventative maintenance of the equipment throughout the facility including commercial and industrial washing machines, tumble driers, rotary irons, finishing and dosing machines.
2. Fault Finding - proactively find and prevent faults occurring to equipment reducing breakages and downtime. Report any defects to the maintenance & site managers that could impact operations.
3. In-House Engineering - provide a core competency of engineering skills and be responsible for maintaining machinery/equipment/the facility to a high standard whilst striving to minimise issues. Provide knowledge and input into continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities.
4. Collaboration with external specialists - where specific knowledge/skills are required, you will be responsible for liaising with third parties to solve any issues with the hardware and plan for future installations with a maintenance mentality.
5. Stock management - establishing the critical spares required, monitoring stock levels of spare parts and ordering items which have reached the ‘on-hand’ limit.
6. Health and Safety - ensuring health and safety procedures are followed throughout the facility and improving processes over time.

Requirements
Technical Competency
1. Fully qualified engineer - Ideally, time served, with experience in electrical and mechanical engineering.
2. Specialist knowledge - You will be familiar with commercial laundry equipment and have good electrical and mechanical competency.
3. Driving Licence - A clean full driving licence is required to drive between facilities.
4. Problem Solving - You will be able to identify problems and proactively solve them whilst also having the willingness to learn new skills to add to our in-house capabilities.
5. PPM - have a strong knowledge of what effective PPM is and how they are carried out to build a scalable PPM schedule.
Technology, Automation and IT Literacy
1. Technical and IT literacy - You will be confident in using technology to optimise our processes and efficiency.
2. PLC - Have a strong knowledge of PLC’s and their functionality, having a working knowledge of the software behind them.

1. Collaboration - You will use effective influencing and collaboration skills to cultivate professional working relationships at all levels.
2. Organisation and detail - You will assure excellence through attention to detail and strong organisational skills as well as compliance with Health & Safety within a busy commercial setting.
