Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for a Registrar ST3 to work with us in Acute and General Medicine.

Main duties of the job
The General / Acute Medicine Registrar (ST3+) plays a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality care for acutely and chronically ill medical patients. The post involves managing inpatients, leading ward rounds, supervising junior doctors, and contributing to the education, research, and governance within the department.
Job responsibilities
* To co-ordinate high quality person-centred care of the patients on the ward, ensuring that all patients admitted have a diagnosis and treatment plan, and receive a daily medical review.
* To participate in outpatient clinics where required.
* To provide senior medical leadership on the ward by supporting and supervising more junior staff and delegating duties appropriately.
* To ensure the appropriate discharge of patients, including providing timely paperwork to the General Practitioner ensuring a continuation of care following discharge.
* To actively participate in any appropriate steering or project groups.
* To build and maintain excellent relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team, working with them and communicating effectively to deliver high quality patient care.
* To engage fully in development of services, driving forward innovations to meet the anticipated future challenges of the ageing population. The post holder will be a member of the Medical Healthcare Group and will be expected to participate in the activities of the directorate as indicated.
Person Specification
Experience
* Six months paid UK experience as a doctor within the last 2 years.
* Valid Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
* Right to work in the UK.
* Broad knowledge and experience of General Medicine and UK Acute Medicine and Ambulatory Care in UK.
* Evidence of personal practice in all areas described by the RCP curriculum.
* Understanding of patient safety and risk management.
* Experience in teaching at multiple levels and across disciplines.
Qualifications
* Completion of Foundation Training and Core Medical Training (or equivalent).
* MRCP (UK) or equivalent postgraduate qualification (desirable but not mandatory for ST3 entry).
