What you’ll do As an Engineering Manager, you'll be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that are crucial to our success. This is a senior leadership level role and will blend both technical expertise with a great passion for coaching and developing people, including advocating team wellbeing. Management of Third Party Suppliers to ensure solutions are performant, secure and resilient, and meet bank objectives and client needs. Lead and mentor a multi-skilled team to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions to support business goals. Collaborate with feature teams and third parties to identify and implement creative solutions that align with business objectives. Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues promptly to ensure timely delivery. Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the successful implementation of projects. Develop and document processes to improve engineering efficiency and service quality. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, fostering an environment of learning and growth within the team. Supervise the maintenance and enhancement of service infrastructure, ensuring its reliability and efficiency. Monitor and analyse service performance metrics to continually improve our offerings. Accept 247 accountability and ownership to support availability, currency and performance. Ensure that all engineering activities comply with industry standards and regulations. Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment that promotes creativity and innovation. What you’ll need Proven experience in a leadership role within engineering. Breadth of technical understanding across software development and architecture, service operations, DevOps, and cloud. Strong communication skills, dynamic and adaptable, with the ability to facilitate efficient and effective decision-making. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative approach to finding solutions, and the ability to think strategically. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent. Strong collaborator, capable of building and sustaining relationships at all levels. Ability to develop and/or deliver budget plans for your area with guidance from senior colleagues. It would be great if you have experience of Cards issuing and processing, but it's not essential.
