We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Practice Manager to join our friendly team.
We are an urban practice with a list size of 2700 patients. We have 3 GP partners and we are also a training practice with GP trainees and FY2s.
The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in people management and business management. Preferably having experience of working within a GP practice.
Main duties of the job
1. Works with the GP partners to develop business strategies and patient services.
2. Designs and implements workplace policies and procedures.
3. Oversees daily practice operations, including appointment scheduling, billing procedures, security and health and safety.
4. Clinical staff management (doctors, registrars, students, nurses together with other practitioners and locum cover) including the management of all associated HR/appraisal records.
5. Controls the supply of medical supplies and medical equipment.
6. Management of practice buildings and contractors in relation to maintenance, electric, gas and insurance together with regulation CQC contracts.
7. Manages patient records and IT systems.
8. Evaluates appointment procedures and patient services including administering patient complaints and SEAs.
9. Recruits new non-clinical staff.
10. To attend monthly PCN meetings and attend to PCN issues and needs.
11. To coordinate and administer practice meetings.
12. To coordinate regular clinical and safeguarding meetings as required.
13. Monitors practices progress in meeting government targets.
14. Additional tasks as required by the GP partners.
About us
Pringle Street Surgery is an established surgery serving an urban area in the heart of the local community. On the last 2 CQC inspections, the practice was rated Good.
We have three GP partners, one GP trainee and two Foundation Doctors. Our GPs are supported by 1 part-time Practice Nurse.
The non-clinical team comprises of 5 part-time Receptionists. We also have ARRS staff working within the Practice Nurse Associate, Pharmacist and Mental Health Practitioner.
We are a small friendly team striving to do the best for our patients.
Person Specification
Work Hours: 25 hours per week.
* Experience of working with the general public.
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
* Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects.
* Experience of workforce planning, forecasting and development.
* NHS/Primary Care General Practice experience.
