We are looking for a Part-time Patient Advisor to join ourfriendly team, located in Leicester City.
Working hours can be discussed with a competitive pay rate.
Our surgery core opening hours are:
Mon Wed & Fri: 8am-6:30pm, Thu: 8am-1pm.
Main duties of the job
Candidates will require to have knowledge of SystmOne and must have a good numeracy and literacy skills. Multilingual speakers such as Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Punjabi or Bengali will be desirable.

We are a small family doctor surgery run by 2 GP Partners, with a team of 5 medical receptionists and administrators.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Patient Advisor. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
b. Processing personal, telephone appointments including internal and external
c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
d. Signpost patients to the correct service
e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
f. Read code data on SystmOne
g. Photocopy documentation as required
h. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
i. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
j. Direct requests for information SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
k. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
l. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
m. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
n. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
o. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records, dealing with document workflow
p. dealing with repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently
q. check fridge temperature, deal with vaccination according to cold chain policy
r. handling patient sample
s. processing referrals as doctors require
t. processing all posts
u. recalling patients to support QOF performance
v. registering and deducting patients, pulling out and filing the medical notes
Secondary Responsibilities
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the medical administrator may be requested to:
a. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
b. Inform staff who orders stationery supplies and monitor the stock
