The Role: As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a crucial role in securing projects by delivering accurate and competitive cost estimates. Your responsibilities will include: Leadership: Managing the estimating process for electrical packages on projects of varying scale and complexity. Tender Management: Analysing project specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine the scope of works and developing detailed cost proposals. Supplier Engagement: Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and reliability. Collaboration: Working closely with the design, estimating, and pre-construction teams to produce high-quality M&E tender submissions. Client Interaction: Representing the company in client meetings, site visits, and tender interviews. Industry Insight: Keeping up-to-date with market trends, material costs, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate estimates. Mentorship: Supporting and mentoring junior estimators within the team to promote their professional development. What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will bring: Extensive experience as an Electrical Estimator, ideally at a senior level, within the building services or construction industry. A deep understanding of electrical systems, installations, and current industry regulations. Exceptional analytical and numerical skills with a meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in estimation software. The ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience engaging with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field (e.g., HNC, HND, or equivalent). Membership in professional bodies such as the IET is an advantage.
